I have several reasons for writing this book, but mainly it was to share the genuine story of my love with my late husband Patrick and what an incredible person he was. He was always such a humble man with a beautiful heart and mind. I would like people to understand and feel the respect and adoration he had for me and our life as well as for our daughter. We wrote letters to one another while living on opposite sides of the world and managed to develop a unique and strong relationship that lasted forever.
I knew after reading the first letter Patrick sent that he was the man I would spend the rest on my life with. Letters that we wrote are shared in the book to allow the readers to understand the depth of our relationship. Through our months of writing , we openly express our needs, wants and desires without any hesitations. I really got to know Patrick by way of communicating to him through our words and he really opened his heart to me in an honest way even while thousands of miles separated us. We didn't first meet in person, we met through our words. Our love was able to blossom so truly and deeply because of how well we were able to know one another. Patrick and I shared a selfless love where people from two different cultures and generations experienced a lifetime of joy and enduring love together. Here is an example of one of Patrick' letters: "My mind is constantly filled with the sound of your voice, the memory of your sweet smile, the taste of your lips on mine, the softness of your skin against mine, the unbelievable warmth that flows throughout my body when I enter you and our bodies become one. The days and nights without you seem like eternity". -Patrick "Dedeth, I reach across the many miles and gently touch your cheek and ask the wind to kiss you softly for me until we can be together".- Patrick" Patrick always believed that we didn't need material wealth in order to have a successful relationship. Sincerely, Dedeth
